CULT / GANG INFORMATION
Membership
Cult is like marriage, which is an institution where certificate is awarded as the seal for the union and as a bond. In cultism, the consequences are revealed only if you are a member. There is no library that will provide detailed information about any cult group. What you can get from any secret cult member wooing you is some positive ego stimulating gains. You may not live to see the last of it or regrets and everlasting stigma will be your portion. The flood of tribulations that follow will not be talked about. Apparently, no right reason will contradict right belief and no right belief will ever contradict a right reason.
New members were lured into the confraternity by various spurious means and empty promises. Recruits were enticed by the prospect of having access to money and increased employment opportunities. Confraternities claimed that they could grant new members the powers to defend themselves and loved ones, improve their reputation and social standing and facilitate contact with influential people and those of the opposite sex. These promises were often never realized
There are many forms “Soul winning” (initiations) can take, but the greatest offence we can do to our neighbour is to recruit him/her to join us in doing evil. That is worse than murdering him/her. Cultism is like killing one spiritually, morally, psychologically, whereas normal murder involves killing one physically. When a new recruit joins a cult group, he is inculcated with respect for spiritual fortification and trained in common tactics of physical combat, such as hand-to-hand combat and the use of firearms.
Many students today have found that shortly after consulting some satanic medium such as being initiated into secret cults or attending some spiritualist medium séance, they are usually tormented by evil spirits. This sometimes develops into insanity, hallucination and mental retardation or other terrible deformity in life. An exchange of destiny is carried out during satanic transaction or evil communication between cultist and demonic forces to consolidate their security.

Why Do Some Youths / Students Join Cults / Gangs
Young people join cults/gangs for a array of raison d'être, some of which are the same reasons children join other pro-social groups such as boys brigade, Girls Guide, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, Red Cross, Man-O-War, etc.
Some of the reasons for joining a cult/gang may include:
1. Friends’ influence or peer pressure
2. Curiosity of the unknown
3. The need for identification and protection against oppressions
4. Power acquisition for physical safety and protection
5. Parental/guardians failure in moral development
6. Ignorance
7. A search for love, structure, and discipline
8. A sense of self-worth and status
9. A family tradition
10. Fear of being intimidated/molested/bullied
11. Poor or shattered parental upbringing/background
12. A sense of belonging and commitment
13. Financial advancement/enhancement
14. Inferiority or supremacy complex
15. To be feared and dreaded
16. Show off/spirit of oppression
17. A place of acceptance
18. Academic imbalance
19. To gain popularity
20. Social inferences
21. Media influences
22. Satanic inferences
23. Inadequate and or mis-information on cults/gangs
24. friendship, guidance, thrill, and actions

The Following set of Youths / Students have overtly aided the increase in Gangs / Cults Group in our Academic Communities and Societies:
1. The adventurous youths/students; are filled with inner drive to experiment on any thing that comes their way without proper consideration on its effects on their lives and others.
2. The ignorant/green youths/students; erroneously believed that secret societies are social organizations or clubs that you could easily seize to be a member.
3. The inadequate youths/students; feel small in their personal valuation and as such joins cultism as away out.
4. The delinquent youths/students; are filled with criminal and anti-social tendencies and they see gangs/cults as a haven to hid and unleash the criminal traits.
5. The forced youths/students; consist of students who were intimidated into member ship by means of threat, harassment and coercion. Investigation reveals that forced students are student who had mingled with them knowingly or unknowingly, so watch your steps.
6. The neglected or abandoned youths/students; are vulnerable to the antics of these gangs/cults thereby becoming victims because they see it as home or a place of welcome.
7. The uninformed or misinformed youths/students; have unavoidably found themselves in these illicit groups as a result of misconception that it is a social group that they can easily withdraw.
8. The media influenced youths/students; are youth/students that have being indoctrinated into the world of drug, sex and violent through television, radio, movies and music. The internal locus of control of the youths/students becomes external and as such critical reasoning and judgments are impaired.

The Initiation (I.T) of Prospective Cult /Gang Members
The purpose of treating this sub-topic is to bring to your awareness that against your perception of what you know about initiation in cultism, it has assumed an unsuspecting dimension. Generally and traditionally, initiation is done at night. If during the day, the place must be dark and obscure. It is usually coded from non-members.
After a prospective member has been discovered, the rite of initiation begins. This ranges from ten minutes to three months depending on the cult group and the initiation rites. Many lives had been terminated or maimed due to the rigours of initiation procedures. This severity includes beating, axing, macheting, etc. by students on alcoholic, hard drugs and under satanic influence. Hence, there is no way one can go through the process of initiation without an everlasting mark to show for it.
Today, initiation has assumed a more sophisticated and dangerous dimension. You can be initiated without your knowledge while you are physically present with them. You may ask how this is possible. It’s simple. When you have a friend who is a member or when one of their members is detailed to get you, he begins to take you on outings or gallivanting. In the process of the much paint the town red, you begin to feel different from other students and before you know what is happening your reasoning spirit is in captivity. In fact, at this point, coupled with prospecting initiates unsuspecting initiation, you must have concluded about 65% of the initiation rites such that when you are formally cajoled to join you will be too weak to say no.
In the course of initiation, an oath of allegiance is taken and this forbids the said member from revealing any secret information on the activities of the particular secret society. The oath taken is so powerful and highly spiritual that a new member feels a burning sensation in him. The cultists feel additional power descending on him/her and as such begin to see themselves as a super human.
Cultism is demonic. During initiation the members undergo some rituals to gain demonic protection for themselves. This, they call “intight” or fortification. The blood used for the initiation is a sign of an everlasting covenant to pay total allegiance to the concerned deity or gods. The deification accorded to these deities or gods invokes the spirit of these supernatural forces on members, and as such, they are subjected to the demands of the gods. Almost all the initiates patronize shrines of different native doctors or spiritualist for the following purposes:
1. To fortify them against any attack with piercing objects, such as, gun, machete, axe etc. from penetrating their bodies.
2. To alert them against sudden attack from rival cult groups, mutiny within members, aggrieved students or concerned authorities.
3. To protect them from being oppressed by rival cults or any authorities.
4. To have an edge over others, most especially the school management, the lecturers, the security operatives, etc.
Cultism is not a free way of living. It is a life full of regiments with deadly penalties on erring members. It is barbaric in nature, an idol worshipping which can be likened to living in the Dark Age. What a draw back!

Character Transformation after Initiation
Cultism is another way of life in all ramifications. It is highly spiritual. It therefore subjects her members to the spiritual needs of the gods it believes in. No one goes in and remains the same. There would have been some changes physically, psychologically, physiologically, socially, spiritually and mentally. This is what is called the 3P2S1M transformation. In most cases, it is irreversible, that is the most annoying part of my findings. Research has shown that most cultists possess or are transformed to possess the following habits, attitudes or character:
1. Callousness
2. Dreadfulness
3. Arrogance
4. Waywardness
5. Drug addiction and or trafficking
6. They become possessed with unknown destructive forces.
7. Become friends to spiritualist, e.g. native doctors, false prophets, Alfas, etc, for protection.
8. Rapists
9. Armed Robbers

Relationship in Cultism / Gangsterism
The continuous existence of cultism is made possible by the support of some powerful groups, like lecturers who were members during their undergraduate days and influential personalities in the society. These influential personalities are the major evils that corrupt good manners because students’ cultists are encouraged by the support they receive from them. The relationship in cultism could be classified as follows:
1. Relationship with school authorities:In order to retain their various positions, some school authorities secretly mobilize student cultists against whoever they consider a threat. They finance the cultists’ their activities so that neither calm nor tranquility but anarchy and doom reign in the campus. How can the cockroach be declared innocent when the cock is made the judge? The outcomes of this shameless act are:
(i) There could be inter-cult or intra-cult intimidation over the sharing of the money given inform of allocation from the government.
(ii) They begin to feel they are demigods and as such are above the law.
(iii) They can always foment trouble in order to get more money from the management. A show of shame was exhibited in one of our higher institution of learning in the South where the school head had a party with the various cult groups and a lecture free day was declared for all the students. Various colours of different cult groups were displayed all over the campus and its environs.
2. Relationship with some lecturers:A cordial relationship exists between student cultists and lecturers who were members in their undergraduate days. They liaise to get the following information and benefits:
(i) Examination Malpractice; cultists are given prior knowledge of their examination questions beforehand, thus enabling them score higher grades than other serious students.
(ii) Protection from other lecturers and school authorities: maximum protection is given to the secret society they belonged to, during their undergraduate days. They give adequate information on what plans the school authorities have against them and their activities.
(iii) Cultists are assured of their safety even if arrested by external security (the Police) as many of them (staff-cultists) will rise up to ensure their freedom.
(iv) Financial assistance.
3. Relationship with godfathers: Due to the spirit of brotherhood, there is continued maintenance of cordial relationship between cult groups and their members who may have become top shots in their respective life endeavours. Apart from the top shots that are members, other top shots that are not members make use of these cultists to achieve their selfish ambitions. These godfathers often assist the young cultists in the following ways:
(i) Provision of arms.
(ii) Protection from law enforcement agencies.
(iii) Financing of cultists operations and activities.
4. Relationship with parents/guardians:Some parents/guardians are aware that their wards are cultists but in the interest of protecting the family name or believing that blood is thicker than water, they adequately protect their wards from necessary punishment. Most parents/guardians who are also cultists give confidence to their wards who join secret cults. This is usually noticed in their reactions when they know that their wards are in cults. It is also known that many students have been initiated into the occult world prior to securing admission. What will definitely be the fate of such students in school when their ungodly parents secure arms and charms for them for protection? What an unholy act!
5. Relationship with native doctors, fraudulent alfas and prophets or men of God: Most cultists have good relationship with native doctors, alfas and prophets. Cultism is highly demonic and spiritual; hence they continue to visit spiritual homes for power and protection because they want to outwit others and protect them-selves.

Renouncing Cultism / Gangsterism
Renouncing the membership of a cult is usually difficult. Research has shown that it is never complete unless God arrests the cultist or there is truly an inner drive or conviction. This is irrespective of whether you are in school or not. Many cultists who had renounced their memberships were killed for renouncing, while others are still on the run. Adequate rehabilitation facilities were not provided for those who truly renounced their membership, and as such cultism has remained unabated.
Many ignorant and shortsighted students hope to join cult with the intention of quitting later. I am sorry. Have a re-think and drop that dream or else you will be moving towards a life of regret. We must have seen members who renounced their membership partially in order to deceive people in believing that they have made up their minds in renouncing cultism. They never have peace of mind. Every now and then, rival groups and those they have wronged knowingly or unknowingly are intimidating them. Also some of them cannot fit well into the society because they are seen as killer, drug addicts and dangerous beings.
Cultists always have pain both in their souls or inner being, and in their heads. It is a clear conclusion that every cultist suffers after renouncing his /her membership and often after graduation when the dawn of reality is unravelled to him/her.
It is common fact that a renounce or gangster/cultist that forsakes such groups are considered collateral damage, and when violent inter cults/gangs conflict arises, it does not matter whether you have renounced or not. It is all a matter of killing the said “renouncee” to count/settle scores or to pass a message of threat to others.

Finance of Secret Cult / Gang Activities
Cult groups acquire their weapons from several sources, including wealthy patrons and politicians and chiefs who hire them for specific purposes. Other sources include friendly governments at the state and local levels, captured weapons from rival groups, attacks on security forces and exchanging stolen goods for arms.
1. Guns and equipment are purchased or are got through members whose parents/relatives are in the force. In other cases, they are given as gifts from ex-members who are well to do in the society.
2. All members are made to pay 10% or otherwise of every income (otherwise known as Tithe) and some other compulsory levies.
3. Through criminal activities, such as, armed robbery, stealing, drug trafficking, to mention a few.
4. Locally made guns, axe, machetes and charms are secured from some local hunters, local blacksmith and native doctors at a very cheap rate.
5. Ammunitions are also secured from illegal arms dealers.

Why has it been so Difficult to Curb Violent Clashes and
Cult / Gangs in our Institutions of Learning?
The following have been adduced to the seeming difficulties in the curbing of cultism and allied crimes in our citadels of learning.
1. The proliferation of arms and ammunitions: The influx of these weapons of destruction into the society during the military era, and unscrupulous politicians using these boys and girls to reign terror on the opponents and to rig elections.
This is a major contributing factor to the ever-increasing cult clashes inand out of our campuses. The sophisticated weapons of destruction acquired by cultist are purchased to fight off their opponents and all who are against them. Also, it is an exuberant way to prove their supremacy over other secret cult groups. Cultists are always willing to showcase their weapons at the slightest provocation by staging a hit/clash as a sign that they are better off. They believe in violence to victory or ‘ruggedness’ to success.
2. The influence of godfathers:The influence of godfathers cannot be over emphasized. Despite the overt posture and the respect the godfathers command from the members of the society, some of them initiate violence in the society by equipping the youths with arms and finances. When any of these youths is caught, these godfathers usually get them out of the hand of the law by their influence.
3. Economic reasons:Most of these students are at the mercy of other students who are financially better. For the males, they see cultism and arm robbery as a way out, while the female ones take to corporate begging from male friends, “Aristorism” (prostitution or commercial sex business) and sorority involvement as a way out.
4. Bad leadership: Most youths feel their future is not guaranteed as a result of bad leadership; and as such they are restive. They are moved by personal instinct for survival to indulge in any act, not minding the consequences.
5. Inadequate implementation of government policy: The masses hardly feel the impact of government policy. Most policy are to enrich themselves not minding its impact on the people and as such every person strive to survive.
6. The attitudes of the law enforcement agencies and the judiciary due to higher power influences of the cultists that always get them out of trouble with the law.

Regrets and Pains of Being a Cultist / Gangster
There is no doubt that becoming a member of any of the secret societies comes with storm of regrets. The following are the regrets that trail cultists, according to my meticulous observation and findings:
1. Death: To the cultist, untimely and reckless death is inevitable; it is a big regret. Whenever a cultist is killed by a rival cult member, it is either his head, hands, legs are cut off, his body battered or his intestines gutted out, some are usually roasted alive, some are bathed with acids, some are buried alive or tied legs and hands before being thrown into rivers or deep seas, for some, their two eyes are plucked out, etc. What a lamentable and wasteful ways to die!
2. Stigma: Cultists are like Cain in the Holy Bible whose forehead was branded with a mark for murdering his brother. Cultists are generally viewed as killers, destroyers, bad elements and wayward entities in the society, and as such are considered as outcasts in a normal progressive society. Every known or suspected cultist is always stigmatized wherever he/she goes after graduating from school. The odious name “cultist” has already been branded on them.
3. Lack of peace of Mind: While in school and even after leaving school, cultists are always restless. They are always anticipating danger. For how long shall one remain like this? Because their hands are not clean in that they have committed so many atrocities, they always believe that someone is out there waiting for the opportunity to strike on them. How would they have rest of mind? Have they forgotten how they have made other people restless? They put so many families in an unforgettable grief. A case of a great and notorious cultist was made known recently.
This cultist was expelled from one of the universities in the Northern part of Nigeria, and ever since then he has been a “bug” on his parents. He has caused lots of troubles for his parents. He was engrossed in his past that everyone around was seen as a potential enemy. He could not blend into the normal progressive society because his orientation about life is completely different from others. His parents sponsored him to a foreign country, Austria, to be precise. I tell you, a madman on the street is better off than him. I cannot say if he is normal or abnormal but all I can say, is that he is suffering from hallucinations from his past life. He once confessed that evil spirits hover around him, and as such his life has become so miserable that he could not come to terms with himself.
He had nobody to blame since it was he who made the choice and decision that alienated him from living a normal life.
4. Spiritual Attacks: During initiation, so many unholy activities take place. These include communion or baptism into the cult, passing through what is known as the devil’s passage and toying with coffins, human skulls, human bones, human blood and the grave yard. Each of these things mentioned has its spiritual implications. Cultists go as far as going to the cemetery and sometimes into deep forest in the dead of the night to perform rituals and invoke demonic forces into their lives. These spirits come into them and take control of their day to day activities.
A case was also reported in one of the Southern universities where the “Don” or a top man of a particular cult group suffered series of nightmares due to a human skull he handled and his involvement in various occultic acts. He later ended up in a psychiatric home where he is today still receiving treatment for mental disorder.
This bond can only be broken by a higher or supreme power when the victim repents.
5. Most Cultists Are Potential HIV/AIDS Carriers: A wide investigation has revealed that majority of the student cultists are HIV/AIDS positive. Amazing! Isn’t it? Yes it is. The question is why is cultist at higher risk of HIV/AIDS? It is because of the following reasons:
(i) The use of same sharp object for piercing and extraction of blood during initiation.
(ii) The mixing and drinking of blood with other concoctions during ‘gyrations’ and initiations.
(iii) Rape: It has been confirmed from various sources that rapists do not normally use condom.
(iv) The use of same syringe and needle during drug orgy in order to boost their confidence.
(v) Sex orgy: The female initiated cultists are made to undergo unprotected sex by their counterparts during initiation and they are further exposed by continuous practice of prostitution to meet their insatiable material needs.
It is a fact that the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes (AIDS) is a blood borne disease transmitted through blood contact, breast milk and bruised mucosa lining. Thus sharp objects for piercing the body, blood contact by way of ingestion or blood meal at initiation, unprotected sexual intercourse during acts of rape or sexual escapade, mutual usage of syringe and needles by drug addicts are all documented or confirmed means of contacting and spreading HIV/AIDS epidemic all over the world.
6. Cultists Are Transformed Into Drug Addicts: Cultists are primary source of drugs in and out of the campuses. Cultists’ involvement in drugs such as Indian hemp or Marijuana (indo, igbo, ganja, scabber, eja, ejaga, choko, etc,), heroin, cocaine, etc, without doctor’s advice and prescription has a lot of adverse effects on them and the unsuspecting victims.
7. Bad Habits: A lot of bad habits like smoking, alcoholism, drugs, prostitution or womanizing, idolatry, etc are usually not easy to do away with. To be fore warned is to be fore armed.

A Record of the Confessions of Ex-Cultists / Ex-Gangsters
1. “My name is J____ Taiwo. I am a graduate of one of the Southern Universities in Nigeria, where I studied Accountancy. In my second year the in school, I had a friend named Kola who though not a serious student, always had good grades. I dared asking him what his secret was; his response was funny but straightforward. He simply told me that I was a “gentile” and that I needed to be “BORN AGAIN” in order to leave “Babylon for Zion”. I told him I did not understand. His response was that I would not understand what he meant until I become “BORN AGAIN”. I became curious and anxious of the unknown, just like Nicodemus in the Bible, and decided that if being born again is what it takes to make me have good grades by being feared by lecturers, rollicking with big time babes on campus, live an extravagant life, be known and feared, oh! I mean respected. If by being the called “BORN AGAIN” just like my friend then the ‘born-again” I must be.
Alas! It started like a dream and before I knew it I was already a member of one of the most dreaded secret cult groups on campus. Everything I was told in the beginning by Kola turned out to be the opposite. I found myself dating prostitutes. My academic grade fell from average to below average. I also became a chain smoker and an alcoholic. I saw every other person as my enemy, including those that represents same “colour” (member). I was afraid to be alone for fear of confronting myself. Among my family members, I was a complete outcast and a stranger.
I looked up and down, there was no hiding place for me, and my soul was arching to hell. I became afraid of the unknown. Every movement around me became suspicious and my eyes were always at my back. I had restless and sleepless nights. God in His mercy saw me through school and gave me a second chance to live. My heart still pricks me with fear, especially whenever I read the portion in the Holy Scriptures that says, “What you sow, you shall reap and he who kills by the sword shall die by the sword.” Five years after graduation, rival cult group killed Kola on his wedding day. This caused his mother a nervous breakdown.
It was then I felt a great scale fell off my eyes and I could see with clarity the repercussion of being a notorious “Bush man” (cultist). Whenever I reflect on my past life, I writhe in anguish and regrets. If only I can turn back the hands of time. If only I can go back to the past and rebuild my future. If only I had foresight, life would have been totally different now. But the deeds have been done, and life lingers on with its sad memories. Dear reader, do not just read this book for the sake of reading but by understanding it perfectly as a testimony of regrets, so that you will not be a victim of regrets. Clandestine society is not a way of life but a sure passage to destruction.”
2. “Fellow students, the story you are about to read is a true life experience. Though it all happened like a scene in a horror movie, it is real. We were six children from my parents; four girls and two boys. My brother and I studied in the same University. He studied Mechanical Engineering while I studied Business Administration. He was a semifinalist while I was a “Senior Jambite” (Year 2 student). Both of us were great cultists of one of the most dreaded secret societies on our campus. My elder brother was the second-in-command while I was the number eleven man. We were highly feared but not respected on the campus. I believe, then, that being feared and respected are correlated but, with the passage of time, I was proved wronged that being respected is better than being feared. At home, our parents never knew we are cultists. This is because we always pretended to be good boys at home
My brother has a childlike look that he could be mistaken for a visiting saint from heaven. But deep down, he can devour a live lion at ease. He was a brave, heartless and careful tactician. I hate making this confession although I get some psychological relief telling the story. What you are about to hear now will touch and transform or groom you for the better.
It happened that on the day our cult went on a strike or “hit” in a particular school far away in the East, nemesis caught up with my brother. It was a clash of the Titans as my brother resisted attempts by the academic community mob to overpower him. He fought with the stoicism of a wounded lion but to but all to no avail. The entire students of the institution set him ablaze with tyres and fuel. In my presence, my elder brother was burnt to ashes. I always remember vividly him cry out that, “Everything that has a start must surely have an end, brother, hear me out, I have wrecked my life with my own hand, stay away from violent act. Be a free man with a free will.”
After his death, I decided to quit my former school for a new one where my identity will be coded, so that I can lead a new life again. Up till now, I am still under the fear of the past, though I am a changed person now.”
