A Clarion Call to Freedom to Nigerian / World Youth!

A clarion call from physical, mental, social, psychological and spiritual bondage to a renewed life filled with love and affection for oneself and humanity. He who loves humanity loves life and he that has life must respect it. It is sacred and needs to be venerated. Freedom from the pity of hell to a life filled with love and peace is the ultimate breakthrough for any human being on earth.

You are strong, capable, responsible, and determined. As you expand your horizons through higher learning, you will be faced with some hard choices. This is a clarion call to make a right one. You have the choice to follow the cults and gangs around you, or a chance to seek the truth. When you join a cult or a gang, you become a soldier of evil. By joining these groups, you say that you stand for hate, fear, destruction, and betrayal. We are asking you to choose a better path; to become a humane person by being intone with nature. By devoting yourself to being a peaceable and quality youth/students shows that you stand for hope, peace, justice, and truth. It embodies higher moral standards, and to help your community prosper and grow. A youth/student is disciplined, honest, hard working, and filled with a desire to follow God and his commandments above all things.

It is a known fact that a tree is known by its fruit. Good trees produce good fruit and bad trees will produce bad fruit. Cults and gangs are rotten trees, and their fruits show us that clearly. Campus terrorism, examination malpractice, drug sales, drug addiction, disease, death, hate, and fear are just to name a few. The fruits of these rotten trees not only affect your life; it affects that of your family, friends, and your entire community as well. It has threatened the peaceful and progressive coexistence of our schools, homes, and communities. It tears apart families, and spits in the face of your cultural values. It breeds fear and anxiety both in and around your campuses. Worst of all, the deaths that cults and gangs cause, leave scars on you and your community that cannot heal while the problem is still there. All of Nigeria and the world weep at the Beyond the emotional wounds that it is made to suffer through, these groups themselves are the increasingly visible, physical wounds. The loss of human life has no price that can be put on it. Hey! What about the valuable properties that are being destroyed?

“Community Leadership Initiative (CLI)” (an organization formed to help create awareness, prevent, intervene in cultism/gansterism and rehabilitate those that have forsaking it on Nigerian campuses) revealed the number of students (Supposed graduate) killed or maimed as a result of cult related violence are given below:

Students Killed between June 1985 –June 1996          are       77

Students Killed between July 1996 – July 2007             are      1743

Students Maimed between June 1985—June 1996       are     141

Students Maimed between July 1996 –July 2007          are     6733

Those inside these cults not only have to fear the loss of their lives to rival groups or same cult during mutiny, the risk of been permanently maimed or deformed for life, they are branded like Cain in the Holy bible whose forehead was marked for murdering his brother, Their heart is always open to spiritual attack from satanic forces, the risk of disease greatly increases with the choices and activities that these cults and gangs participate in. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Hepatitis B and C, and a host of other blood borne diseases as well as infections ranging from skin ulcers and localized abscesses to stroke, Botulism, Tetanus, destruction of lung tissue, and infection of the heart valves can be transmitted through sharing unsterilized syringes and needles for drug use. The use of cutting and involving blood in initiation ceremonies bring with it the same risk of spreading these diseases. The sexual promiscuity and immorality of the gangs/cults also brings with it its own set of fatal diseases. HIV and AIDS are still dominant, followed by Syphilis, Chlamydia, Trichomoniasis, Gonorrhea, and Genital Herpes. These diseases are very real, very dangerous, and very deadly.

No matter what someone has done within these cults/gangs, there is still hope of redemption. Through physical and spiritual cleansing, we are free from this shackle ravaging our youths. This choice of eternal life over death from evil is yours to make, and no one can make it for you. Humanity wants you to stop sacrificing your body by killing it with drugs, sexual promiscuity, and violence. Instead, he wants us to offer our lives as agent of peace and not of problem. Showing our gratitude for what the gift of life, and helping each other thrive and grow together. This is what this clarion call is asking. That you stand up and take your place as a child of peace and not a child of affliction to humanity

Becoming a humane person sets you on the path of emancipation from cults/gangs, and it requires wisdom and action. The fear of your creator is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. It is easy to think that the choices you make aren’t foolish. Truly examine what a gang or cult teaches you. There is no wisdom to be found there. You are worth more than these groups can give. Too often students are drawn in to join cults and gangs to feel a part of something. We, however, want you to be part of something bigger than any cult or gang. You are more valuable to your parents, your teachers, and us than the price that is being paid when you let a cult or gang take over your life.

Your Society, your zone, and even your campus are built and founded by you. Your decisions and actions decide if these things will be strong and stand firm or crumble. So view your life as a house and make your foundation of rock as the wise man does; listening to the words of wisdom and change and doing them. By believing in these cults and gangs, you have made your foundation of sand. Hard times will descend upon the house of your life just as rain, wind, and flood come. Will your house stand against it? The storms can beat against the house built on the rock as much as they can, but that house will outlast them all because it is founded on the rock. But the house built on sand will fall, and its destruction will be devastating. The destruction of the house on the sand was so devastating; because, it wasn’t only the house that fell. Everything tied to the house would fall with it. In the same way, it has been said that a beautiful parrot that knows its feathers are in high demand should not build its nest close to the ground. So take care when you build your life and make choices that are wise and sound. If your community, your zone, and your campus are all built upon you, how much stronger will they be if you first build your foundation on the strength of the rock instead of sand?

In closing, this clarion call is going out to you, the students and youth of Nigeria and the world.  You are presented with a choice today and we pray that you will make the right one.  Your life is sacred and must be kept pure.  Head this call by saying a defiant - NO to cults and gangs.  Instead stand up and rejoice by joining the family of peace and taking your seat at the banquet table of just men and women.  Your seat has been waiting for you.  God Bless as you heed this clarion call for peace and share the message with others.
